The Peer Talk Program aims to foster a greater awareness of civil rights issues within the District, among area high school students. The program plans to build that awareness within a series of discussion forums.  The plan calls for 90 minutes of discussion each, after regular school hours, with high school students, school staff, and minority community members attending. The minority communities to be represented include the three key minority populations within the District: Asian, Latino, and African-American. Civil Rights organizations representing those communities will also be in attendance. Adult participants from those communities or organizations may add important input to the discussions.
