Dr. Nowalk has educated thousands of English language learners in their efforts to become proficient in English. For many of those students, Dr.

Nowalk has helped them prepare for academic work in high school, college, and graduate schools in Virginia. Dr. Nowalk has taught academic English skills to those students: preparing them for the literacy and communication demands of the classroom. While a high school teacher for the Loudoun County Schools in Virginia, he assisted mostly Hispanic students prepare for entry into mainstream academic classes. As for his own education, Dr. Nowalk has earned a doctorate in education with specialties in teaching languages and designing language education program
