Projected Career Opportunities for Hispanic Nurses
There is a critical shortage of professional nurses in the United States, particularly among Hispanic and other minorities. Hispanics comprise the fastest growing ethnic group in the United States, yet represent less than 2 percent of the nursing work force. An increase in baccalaureate-prepared Hispanic nurses will not only decrease the nursing shortage, but also increase the number of well-educated, bilingual nurses available to serve diverse communities.
Hispanic nurses will have a unique opportunity to bridge the language barrier, reduce discrimination and improve cultural awareness in hospitals, clinics and other health care facilities while developing a lasting career.
Partners In The Program
